Campaigning is quite contrary to my personality. Honestly, I think it should be contrary to anyone who wants to actually serve others. Traditional campaigning is quite self-serving almost by default. This campaign will be different. My hope, is that it will be refreshingly different! With this said, I'm super excited to announce this next stage of the process.
The Challenge:
95 County Seats in 95 Hours. This adventure through Tennessee will allow me access to the entire state within a few days. I'll drive the roads we share and see more of the state in 95 hours than I have in a lifetime.
However...let's make this more than a challenge. Let's make this something really unique. Let's integrate hope, unity, inspiration, experimentation, and participation within this challenge! That's where the photo comes into play. At each stop, I will accomplish two things.
First:
I will leave something behind. One of 95 silver Peace Dollars (in packaging that explains what this is all about) that I've colorized to give the finder a blank canvas to create something meaningful. It's an opportunity for that person to share a part of themselves with the rest of the state. Their personal expression of what unity looks like to them. With the coin, they have an opportunity to keep it, sell it, or transform it. No matter what, the coins bring hope to those that find them. I can't wait to see what our state comes up with and how they share their story!
Second:
I will be taking something of no value from each location. This will be a piece of trash or something else discarded that catches my eye. I will collect 95 pieces and hand them off to a local artist to create something that sends a message of unity.
The entire journey is an expression of goodwill. I can't wait to share the entire adventure with all of you! For now, please share with everyone you know. I'll be leaving on May 13th for what promises to be a truly excited and fulfilling 95 hours!
