What better represents a local community than a farmers' market? Local, small businesses, farmers, and nonprofits coming together to showcase what their town or city has to offer. Beyond fresh produce and baked goods, a farmers market is a gathering for local residents and visitors to connect with others, a diverse experience of a rural or urban community in a short-time, and a great way to support new and local farmers that are the backbone of our state.
The past two weekends, I have been able to visit both the Murfreesboro Saturday on the Square and the Kingsport Farmers Market. Great conversations all around learning from local residents, farmers, and business owners.
